An Australian terror suspect says U.S. authorities sent him to Egypt in late 2001 where he was tortured for six months before being transferred to the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, The Washington Post reported on Thursday, citing newly released court documents. In a petition seeking to keep the United States from returning him to Egypt, Mamdouh Habib alleges that while under Egyptian detention he was hung by his arms from hooks, repeatedly shocked, nearly drowned and brutally beaten, the newspaper said.Full Story
