Abbas campaigns in Nablus, settlers vow to disrupt east Jerusalem voting

Palestinian presidential election favourite Mahmud Abbas travelled to the main northern West Bank city of Nablus on the penultimate day of campaigning as Israeli right-wingers threatened to sabotage the ballot in east Jerusalem.Although the outcome of the vote was in little doubt, continued violence on the ground and tension on the Israeli political scene provided a tense backdrop for the second ever Palestinian presidential election.
