Security forces claimed to have killed a top commander of the pan-Islamic Laskhar-e-Toiba outfit in the Valley, while a civilian was injured in militancy related incidents since Tuesday evening. Police also claimed to have recovered a large quantity of ammunition from a militant hideout. Police sources said that a top LeT commander was killed in an encounter with security forces at Batkote, Handwara in the frontier district of Kupwara. Police said the slain militant is the ‘‘district launching chief’’ of the outfit, and has been identified as Abu Assadullah of Pakistan. Full Story
