One military-style, quick-response facility will be based at Camp Rell. The state Department of Public Health is working to establish a 100-bed mobile hospital that could be set up anywhere in the state to treat patients during an emergency caused by an accident, infectious disease outbreak or terrorist attack. Tentative plans call for the mobile hospital, which would be a configuration of military-style tents or trailers with about $3 million worth of medical equipment, to be stored at two locations, one of them local, said Leonard Guercia Jr., director of the state health department’s Office of Public Health Preparedness.
