No such militants camps, says Najib

Malaysia has no knowledge of camps used to train militants as alleged by Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and several leaders in his administration, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. “If the Thai government has such information, it is better that Malaysia be informed about it confidentially through the official channel. “If indeed such camps exist, we will send our security forces to check out the report,” the Deputy Prime Minister said. “On the other hand, by exposing them openly, if such camps do exist, they (the militants) will surely close them down immediately and cover up all evidence. “But so far, from our information, there are no such camps in the north of the Malaysian peninsula,” said Najib, who is also Defence Minister, after the post-Cabinet meeting, here. He was asked to comment on the statement by Thai Deputy Home Minister Sutham Saengprathum that Bangkok had photographs of Thai militants undergoing military training in Malaysian jungles. Full Story
