In February Scottsdale’s diversity director, Don Logan, opened a package that contained a bomb. The package exploded in his hands and lodged shrapnel into the walls and surrounding desks. The bomb injured two other city employees and left Logan with severe damage to his right forearm and middle finger. The result: Scottsdale is spending $800,000 to upgrade security at five city buildings. Most noticeable are the changes going on at the City Hall Kiva. The Kiva is being remodeled to limit the public’s access to just the clerk’s counter at the front entrance of the building. Full Story
