The Jackson County Courthouse was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a caller said that a bomb had been placed in the building. According to Jackson County Court Clerk Sonya Tutten, Deputy Clerk Linda Winters received the call about 12:50 p.m. “I was so shocked,” Winters said about the phone call, in which, she said, the caller gave a “foreign name,” claimed to be associated with a terrorist group and said that judges are putting people in jail unjustly. “They never even hardly took a breath, then hung up,” Winters said. Following courthouse procedures, Tutten informed the commissioners’ office, which immediately informed the sheriff’s office. Full Story
