The investigation into the short-lived coup of 2002 has stoked political tensions in Venezuela, with former public officials who are facing charges trying to flee the country, while the opposition claims the government is on a witch hunt. Authorities on Monday arrested a third former policeman allegedly involved in the murder of top prosecutor Danilo Anderson, who had been investigating hundreds of people in connection with the April 2002 coup that removed President Hugo Chavez from power for two days.
