Mexico City Attorney General Bernardo Bátiz on Sunday blamed lawlessness in society for the brutal lynchings of police officers in the town of San Juan Ixtayopan in Mexico City’s Tlahuac precinct last week. Speaking to reporters after an emergency cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat of Security and Justice, the attorney general expressed his concern at the “high levels of violence in televison programs and films today … which have created an atmosphere where extreme violence is seen as the norm.” Full Story
