US President George W. Bush arrived here to show support for President Alvaro Uribe’s battle against drug trafficking.Bush arrived from the 21-nation Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Santiago at 11:40 am (1640 GMT) at the Rafael Nunez airport in this coastal city. Bush met with Chilean President Ricardo Lagos after the summit’s conclusion before heading to Colombia. The US president and his wife Laura were greeted by Foreign Minister Carolina Barco before heading to a colonial fort where Uribe awaits the US leader. After a meeting and lunch, Bush and Uribe will give a news conference. An impressive security force of 15,000 police, sailors and soldiers has been deployed for Bush’s four-hour visit. Full Story
