The Federal Government has endorsed new security laws that will help authorities monitor the emails and phone text messages of people suspected of planning terror attacks. The three bills will now be introduced to parliament during its first sitting since the October 9 election, starting today. The legislation was among bills that lapsed before the vote, in which Prime Minister John Howard’s government won a fourth term, and that will be re-introduced to parliament.Full Story
