Terrorism should be condemned unconditionally, President Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said Wednesday at talks that also highlighted efforts by Russia to strengthen its relations with the European Union.
Meeting at the Kremlin, Putin and Berlusconi also discussed the crisis in Iraq, saying the United Nations should play a central role there. Both countries will participate in an international conference on Iraq’s future, scheduled for Nov. 23, at Sharm el-Sheik, Egypt , a statement released by the two leaders said. Putin, who has courted world leaders and their support following a series of terrorist attacks that has shocked Russia, was joined by Berlusconi in calling for a unified front in fighting terrorism.Full Story
