A Palestinian suicide bomber struck an outdoor market in Tel Aviv today, killing at least three people and wounding more than 30. The attack, for which a Palestinian militant group claimed responsibility, came as the Palestinian leader Yasir Arafat was receiving treatment in Paris for an undiagnosed illness. The bomber hit the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv shortly after 11 a.m. when the market was full of shoppers, according to a statement on the Web site of Israel’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.
