Two of Spain’s most famous chefs – Juan Mari Arzak and Pedro Subijana – have appeared in court to answer allegations of financing a terrorist organisation. A suspected member of Basque separatist group Eta told investigators the chefs had paid thousands of euros to prevent their restaurants from being attacked. Paying protection money is a crime in Spain. Both men, who deny the claims, run restaurants in San Sebastian. Mr Arzak prepared a wedding feast for Prince Felipe earlier this year.Full Story
