A senior Irish police officer found by a judicial inquiry to have staged bogus discoveries of IRA weapons to advance his career has been sacked. Superintendent Kevin Lennon was one of two officers found by the Morris Tribunal in July to have orchestrated the planting of ammunition and hoax explosives in Strabane, County Tyrone and in County Donegal.
