In another blow to President Mohammad Khatami’s reformist government, Iran’s hard-line Parliament voted Sunday to dismiss the transportation minister, accusing him of corruption and mismanagement. After a daylong impeachment debate, 188 members of Parliament of 258 present voted to fire the minister, Ahmad Khorram. A simple majority is enough to dismiss a minister.Conservatives spearheaded the impeachment drive after a series of fatal air crashes and several accusations of corruption during Mr. Khorram’s tenure.
