Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said Sunday that Israel was strengthening its military presence in the northern Gaza Strip and would keep troops there until Palestinians stopped firing rockets into Israel. At least eight Palestinians were killed in the area in renewed fighting. Five were militants and the others included two boys, ages 13 and 14, and a man who was deaf and mute, according to Palestinian hospital workers and witnesses. Palestinians launched four more rockets from Gaza into southern Israel, but they did not cause any damage or injuries. In five days of often intense clashes in and around the teeming Jabaliya refugee camp, about 60 Palestinians have been killed, including militants and civilians.
