Five Palestinians were killed as Israeli combat helicopters struck militants in the northern Gaza Strip and the army warned that its huge military offensive in the area could last for weeks. Since Israeli unleashed its military might six days ago, 71 Palestinians have been killed in the deadliest raid on the Gaza Strip since the start of the Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation four years ago.
