A Turkish company said on Tuesday it was suspending its operations in Iraq to save 10 employees abducted at the weekend by an Iraqi militant group which has threatened to kill them. “We are halting our activities in Iraq,” said Ali Haydar Veziroglu of the Vinsan construction company in a statement faxed to Reuters. “The 10 kidnapped Turks are innocent and came from Turkey with the aim of providing for their families and also to serve the Iraqi people.” In a videotape aired by Arabic television station Al Jazeera on Saturday, the Abu Bakr al-Seddiq Battalions threatened to kill the workers within three days if the company did not quit Iraq.
