A suicide car bomb detonated Friday near an Iraqi police checkpoint on a busy street in central Baghdad, killing at least eight Iraqis and wounding 41 others, according to the Iraqi Health and Interior ministries. Three police and five civilians were among the dead, spokesmen for the ministries said. An explosives-laden vehicle approached the police checkpoint on al-Rashid Street and detonated around 12:40 p.m. (4:40 a.m. ET), a police spokesman said. Full Story
