Mexican drug cartels are sending emissaries to Colombia to negotiate cocaine prices and oversee drug shipments to their country, the press reported Tuesday. Citing officials from both countries, Bogota daily El Tiempo said Mexican cartel representatives have been spotted in the northwestern region of Antioquia and Caqueta in the southwest, among other areas. Area residents have also reported the presence of suspicious individuals, including one man claiming to be a sports agent who was visiting the town of Valle del Cauca, where one of Colombia’s largest cocaine cartels operates.
