A car bomb attack on a central Baghdad police station Tuesday morning killed at least 47 people and wounded dozens more — many of them police recruits who had lined up outside the building to apply for jobs, Iraqi officials said. Hours later, drive-by gunmen in Baquba targeted a minibus carrying Iraqi police, killing 12 police officers and wounding three civilians, according to officials in Iraq’s interim government.
