Five university students and a professor who were kidnapped by FARC rebels last week in northwestern Colombia have been released, their relatives said Monday. The researchers from the Universidad Nacional and the Universidad de Antioquia, both located in Medellin, were freed Sunday night near the town of Urrao, according to the wife of erstwhile hostage Gonzalo Abril. Members of the group, which had been conducting environmental research at Orchids National Park in the mountainous region of the Antioquia province municipality of Frontino, were declared missing on Friday.
