About 5,000 Argentines rallied outside Congress on Wednesday, angry over last week’s acquittals of five men thought to be connected to the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center. The rally was led by Jewish leaders who said that last week’s acquittals has left unanswered the question of who was behind the worst anti-Semitic attack in Latin American. A rigged van exploded July 18, 1994, outside the Argentine Israeli Mutual Aid Association. The blast leveled the seven-story building, a symbol of Argentina’s 300,000 strong Jewish community, killing 85 people and injuring 200 others. Full Story
