NATO, Russia to Boost Anti-Terror Cooperation

NATO and Russia Tuesday agreed to boost cooperation in the fight against terrorism after a spate of attacks on Russian soil including the Beslan school siege that ended with at least 335 deaths. Ambassadors from NATO states and Russia united at a special meeting in Brussels to condemn what they called the “barbaric and insidious” global terror threat, and pledged to develop an action plan to defend their peoples. “The member states of the NATO-Russia Council remain determined to strengthen and intensify their common efforts against this shared threat,” said the Council, created in 2002 to promote security cooperation between the Cold War foes.Full Story
