The three Kenyan truck drivers held hostage in Iraq arrived home in Mombasa yesterday – and fell weeping into the arms of their families. The three shouted “Allah akbar” (God is great) as their wives hugged them on the tarmac, moments after they alighted from the Kenya Airways plane ferrying them from Nairobi to Moi International Airport, Mombasa. They repeated that none of them would ever again set foot on Iraq. But they had a chilling message for all Kenyans from the gangs who kidnapped them: The militants who held them for 42 days with four other captives in a succession of shabby rooms had promised to kill any other Kenyans they found in that country.
