7 Kidnapped Drivers Freed as Kuwaiti Trucker Pays Ransom

Kidnappers released seven foreign truckers held for 43 days on Wednesday after the head of a Kuwaiti transport company said he had paid a $500,000 ransom. “We paid half a million dollars in order to release the hostages, and in the past we had paid other sums,” the chairman of the Kuwait and Gulf Link Transport Company, Saeed Dashti, told reporters in Kuwait, according to Reuters.
