An armed rebel group issued a stinging critique of President Vicente Fox on Tuesday, a day before his State of the Nation Address. “We will be listening to the schizophrenic fallacies of Mr. Fox,” said a written statement from the People’s Revolutionary Army, or EPR, a guerrilla faction sometimes referred to as the Popular Revolutionary Army. The group, which appeared in 1996 with a wave of attacks on police and army posts focused in the southwestern states of Guerrero and Oaxaca, predicted Fox would use doctored statistics to try and disguise continuing poverty in Mexico.
