Eight British terror suspects charged in a plot linked to U.S. financial targets made their first appearance on Wednesday at London’s Old Bailey criminal court. The men were hastily arrested in coordinated raids across Britain this month, two days after the United States announced an alert for financial targets in New York, New Jersey and Washington. All eight appeared via video-link from Belmarsh and Woodhill high-security prisons. Dressed casually in T-shirts or sweatshirts, they spoke only to confirm their names.
