Michigan Republican Rep. Peter Hoekstra was picked to head the House Intelligence Committee, replacing Rep. Porter Goss who has been nominated to head the Central Intelligence Agency, Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert said on Wednesday. Hastert, who announced the choice at a news conference in Chicago, said Hoekstra was a good choice to lead the panel as Congress moves to act on overhauling U.S. intelligence agencies following a critical report by the Sept. 11 commission which investigated the attacks against the Pentagon and World Trade Center.Full Story
