The leaking of the name of an Al-Qaeda operative who led US authorities to step up their terror alert around top financial institutions could compromise investigations into Osama bin Laden’s network, experts warned. Mohammad Naeem Noor Khan has been revealed by the US media to be the computer expert detained in Pakistan last month. The authorities ordered heightened security in Washington, New York and neighbouring Newark on August 1. But they are now embarrassed that Khan’s name was leaked to the New York Times and other media because of the risk that reveals too much about US and Pakistani intelligence gathering. Full Story
