A recent legal wrangling in which the government of Nigeria again strongly opposed the extradition of former Liberian president, Charles G. Taylor, to Sierra Leone to face charges for atrocities allegedly committed against the people of that country may have led many to the conclusion that the issue had hit dead end. But when it is considered that the Government of the United States of America and a recent United Nations report have adduced fresh evidence of Mr. Taylor’s support and coordination of the activities of the terrorist movement of world class’ notorious Osama bin Laden, then there are thin doubts that Taylor’s luck has run out and it is only a matter of time before he is flown out of Nigeria to face his checkered past.
