Thirteen men were arrested yesterday on suspicion of terrorist activities after armed officers from four police forces raided homes in north-west London, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Lancashire. The men – in their 20s and 30s – were detained on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism. They were taken to a central London police station and interviewed by officers from the Metropolitan police’s anti-terrorist branch. Counter-terrorist officials said last night that the arrests were the result of what they called an “extensive investigation”. The operation involved MI5 as well as the police. Full Story
