Explosions struck the U.S. and Israeli embassies and the prosecutor’s office in the Uzbek capital Tashkent on Friday, causing a number of casualties. “An explosion has occurred outside the prosecutor’s office,” said Svetlana Ardykova, head of the prosecution’s press service. Russia’s Interfax news agency quoted an official at the U.S. embassy as saying the blast had been caused by a suicide bomber with explosives attached to his waist.
