A just-fired Cabinet minister blasted on Monday the government of Argentine President Nestor Kirchner, saying it has created a secret-police monster of which “it is either a hostage or an accomplice.” Gustavo Beliz, until Saturday Argentina’s justice minister, accused Kirchner of using “a logic of terror” and of secretly funneling to the intelligence services more funds than were authorized by the legislature.
