The sale of stolen gasoline has become a good business for a group of assailants who operate along the southern coast of Guatemala. So far this year 60 gasoline trucks have been hijacked and the contents sold to gasoline stations in the area. Francisco Reyes, who is a consultant with the Fuels Transporters Association, stated that nobody is paying any attention to the hijackings and many businesses are going bankrupt as a result.
