Eleven foreign oil workers, including eight believed to be French nationals, were released from a rig off Nigeria Tuesday after being trapped there by contractors angry about pay, a government official said. Nigerian contractors blocked the helicopter landing pad on the rig off the coast of Bayelsa state Sunday to prevent the expatriate staff from leaving.
