U.S. Finds Inspiration in Libya Compliance

A senior U.S. official on Tuesday cited Libya’s decision to jettison its program to build weapons of mass destruction as a good example for resolving the international dispute over communist North Korea’s nuclear weapons program. “We’ve had some successes in that area in the case of Libya renouncing the pursuit of weapons of mass destruction,” Undersecretary of State John Bolton said in a meeting with South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon. “I think as we prepare for the next round of six-party talks, it’s important to keep all those lessons in mind.”Full Story
