Colombia’s main Marxist rebel group on Monday rejected peace talks for as long as the government here is led by hard-line President Alvaro Uribe. “We’re ready to undertake, with a new administration, the titanic task of building peace with social justice,” commanders of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, said in a statement posted on their Web site. Uribe, a conservative who took office two years ago, has said he is willing to open peace talks with the FARC provided the group first declares a unilateral cease-fire. Full Story
