THE government said on Tuesday it would pull out its 51-man humanitarian mission from Iraq as demanded by the captors of Angelo de la Cruz as soon as possible, without specifying a date. It was a major shift from the government’s earlier stand to withdraw the mission no sooner than August 10. The first indication of the shift came when the deputy foreign secretary, Rafael Seguis, read a statement on the Arab satellite network Al Jazeera addressing de la Cruz’s abductors.Full Story
