A wanted Palestinian militant was killed by an undercover Israeli army unit in Nablus’ Balata refugee camp, Palestinian medics and security sources said. The sources named the man as Issam Mahameed, 27, and said he was a member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades — an armed group loosely affiliated to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat’s mainstream Fatah party. Sources said Mahameed and other activists had gathered in the street in preparation for the funeral of a fellow militant, who died when his booby-trapped M16 file exploded Tuesday, when a sniper opened fire in their direction.Full Story
