The crusading weekly Zeta hit the streets Friday for the first time since a chief editor was shot to death, carrying its version of who might have carried out the latest attack against the paper. Francisco Ortiz, 47, was shot four times at close range as he sat in the driver’s seat of his car Tuesday afternoon, a killing that drew widespread condemnation and highlighted the dangers Mexican journalists face. Police have not announced any firm suspects or motives for the attack, but they said four alleged drug gang members arrested during a Tijuana shootout Thursday could be connected.
