After three days of diplomatic negotiations, Iran today released the six British sailors and two Royal Marines who had strayed into Iranian territorial waters. The men boarded a charter plane that brought them to Tehran. From here they will fly to London, a British diplomat said.”They are at the British Embassy,” the diplomat said. “They are very tired but happy.” The men had been held at a base near the southwestern city of Abadan.
