Rebel attacks killed seven Russian soldiers and police officers in Chechnya, an official in the Moscow-backed Chechen administration said Saturday. Four soldiers were killed and six others were wounded during 14 rebel raids on Russian outposts over the previous 24 hours, the official said on condition of anonymity. In the Chechen capital, Grozny, a police officer was killed and another one was wounded late Friday when unidentified attackers fired at a police checkpoint. Two other police officers were found dead Saturday in the eastern city of Gudermes after being kidnapped by unidentified abductors the previous day.
