TSA Pledges $2.2 Million To Sea-Tac Aviation Security Efforts
Rear Adm. David M. Stone, Acting Administrator for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), today announced TSA has signed a contract with the Port of Seattle for $2.2 million to offset the costs of planning and design work for deploying additional Explosives Detection System (EDS) machines in the lobbies of various terminals at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac). The contract is part of TSA’s commitment to improving the interim checked baggage security system at the airport as a new permanent in-line system is built. “TSA continues to work with the Port of Seattle to meet growing demand and maintain the highest security standards for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport,” said Admiral Stone (USN Ret.). “This contract will lead to more efficient baggage screening and improved customer service.” Full Story
