Al-Qaeda will strike again in the United States, a CIA expert told the official investigation into the September 11, 2001 attacks. “Al-Qaeda … it has by no means been defeated and though weakened, it continues to patiently plan its next attacks,” said the expert, identified by the spy agency as Dr. K. “They may strike next week, next month or next year but they will strike,” he warned. “And even after bin Laden and al-Qaeda are defeated, the global jihadist movement will continue to exist. That movement may again produce another bin Laden or al-Qaeda, as long as there are individuals who are willing to use violence,” he added. The report gave details on the rise of Islamic militants such as Osama bin Laden and the Taliban before the devastating attacks on New York and Washington, which left about 3,000 dead. Full Story
