The United States demanded that the UN nuclear watchdog pass a tough resolution demanding Iran’s cooperation to assure that its nuclear program is not for military ends. “The US believes the board of governors this week must adopt a strong resolution that calls on Iran to cooperate with the IAEA and to resolve all the outstanding issues regarding its nuclear program,” State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said. The United States accused Iran of trying secretly to develop nuclear weapons, of which uranium enrichment is a crucial stage. Boucher did not comment on possible UN Security Council sanctions, but the United States does want an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) board resolution. Full Story
