Two tanker trucks carrying 5,600 gallons of propane that were stolen over the Memorial Day weekend in San Antonio were located June 2 on a road near Laredo. Both vehicles were owned by Ferrellgas. FBI spokesman Rene Salinas said there’s a big market for propane in Mexico, and FBI agent Patrick Patterson told NBC before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, concern would not have been great about the missing tankers. Authorities also are investigating the theft of 15 gas canisters from an ambulance supply company. However, it’s not believed the thefts were connected. On a related matter, authorities announced June 2 that they have no new information on the New Jersey gasoline tanker truck that has been missing since mid-April, NBC news reported on its Web site.
