Convicted Terrorist Sentenced in Australia

A British-born Muslim convert was sentenced to nine years in prison Tuesday for his role in a plot to blow up the Israeli Embassy in Canberra. Jack Roche, 50, is first person to be convicted under anti-terror laws that Australia introduced after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks in the United States. The government, which is a staunch ally of Washington, hailed the sentence even though its lawyers had called for a much tougher penalty. Full Story
