A police guard was killed and at least 32 other people injured when two car bombs exploded near US buildings in the southern Pakistani port city of Karachi, police and medical sources revealed. The guard died in the city’s Jinnah hospital, Dr Seemi Jamali said Wednesday. At least 32 people were injured, 20 of them are still in hospitals, provincial police chief Kamal Shah told AFP. The injured included 10 journalists, press photographers and television cameramen. Others hurt were police officers and civilians, police officer Manzoor Mughal added. The explosions occurred near the Consul General’s residence and the adjacent Pakistan-American Cultural Centre (PACC), police said, adding the two car bombs exploded half an hour apart.
